« Forget me not » – 2020
Flower : Myosotis
Language of flowers : memory and memories
This composition using the “Layered Glass” technique is made with acrylic paint and rendered using a structuring and binding computer code:
The story is about two lovers on a stroll by the water. The young man leaned over to pick a magnificent bouquet of forget-me-nots, but, alas, suddenly fell over into the backwash. No sooner had he had time to say “don’t forget me …” before being swept away. The forget-me-not is the symbol of memory and of faithful, eternal thought.
The details of this legend vary according to regions & eras, but the meaning remains the same in all cultures.
- The composition is made up of an invisible locker with 36 3x3x4 boxes. The flowers are distributed there randomly, but so that, from the front, all are visible.
- 3 Flowers are highlighted. They are dotted with “landscape” icons inspired by the “insert image” pictograms of almost all word processing software. These icons are generated here according to the “all solutions” method: the sun may be on the left, on the right; there may be one or 2 mountains or the sea, small, large etc.
- The stems timidly cling to one of the multiple points on the ground in a random sinusoid.
- The ground is composed of 2 sets of points, also respecting the sinusoidal waves in different directions, and which therefore cross and uncross.
Thus, the monotype represents Forget-me-nots, fresh, light, at the same time soft and sparkling, like all the pretty memories of loved ones.
All the achievements are different and unique. This means that you will have one of this flower, not exactly the one pictured.
